Church By the Bay – Son Shine

Church By the Bay celebrated it’s 25th birthday in 2018. We began as an independent church, but a few years ago joined with the Baptist Churches of Victoria.

We’re a family church with a range of ages from birth to 90 plus. We’re blessed with having 40% of our church under the age of 15 and vibrancy and colour which that brings. But we also appreciate the perspective that every age brings in fulfilling our desire to be God’s family in this part of the world.

We passionately believe that Christianity, the message of Jesus, provides the answers to the challenges we face individually, as a community, and indeed the whole world. With a deep belief in the message of Jesus we come together to connect, encourage and build each other up so as to take the Hope of Christ into our homes and community.

Church By the Bay meets for worship on a Sunday at 9.30am in Portarlington. There are also many other groups and activities that you can be part of throughout the week. Whether you are seeking a group for toddlers, children, youth, adults, parents or seniors, then we will probably have something that will meet your needs. We encourage everyone to also be part of a smaller group of people who meet during the week. This might be in a prayer triplet or a life group of up to about 12 people. This enables us to discuss in depth what we are learning and to support each other on the journey of life.
